When deciding on which global positioning system receiver is best for your needs, it might be a good idea to take some time and do a little research online through the Internet. GPS receivers are available with different types of maps with various levels of detail. There are also some models with features such as a heart-rate monitor or a barometric altimeter. The Garmin Forerunner 305 is the most accurate, most reliable, wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool ever invented.

This device includes wireless heart-rate monitoring and it can also be connected to Garmin’s wireless bicycle speed and cadence sensor. The Forerunner 305 features a waterproof design that feels just as comfortable as a sports watch. It has a curved casing that allows the antenna to face the sky when you are running, while the widescreen display is perfectly positioned for viewing whenever you need it. Although the display is smaller than previous Forerunners, the resolution is far higher, offering unbelievable clarity and sharpness.

Helpful Tips for Getting in Shape

When it comes to getting in shape, summer is no doubt the season. People want to lose a few pounds to spend time at the beach and look good in their swimsuit, or just take advantage of the warmer weather to exercise outside. The best part of getting in shape in summer is, it doesn’t take all that long to lose a few pounds at the beginning of summer, and then spend the rest in grandeur. While it’s a good idea to avoid all the “miracle diets” that boast losing several pounds in the first week, dropping ten to fifteen pounds in a six week span is not out of the question. While most health experts recommend weight loss of about one pound per week, losing more is possible for the person who is dedicated to the task at hand.

For exercise, it will be important to exercise five times per week for about one to two hours. This might sound like a lot, but most everyone can block out an hour of their day for fitness, even if it’s in the morning or right before bed. It doesn’t matter so much what kind of exercise it is, as long as it’s rigorous physical activity. Hiring a personal trainer helps a lot, but of course, purchasing an electronic trainer like the Garmin Edge 205 GPS can work much better for those wanting to save on cost. It’s also important to diet and eat right to lose weight. Eat lots of greens, drink tea instead of coffee, avoid sugars and fats, and it’s hard to go wrong. Get an ideal body before the middle of summer, and reap the rewards thereafter!

High Tech Exercise Gear

Exercising in the 21st century is a little different than it was in the past, and it’s important to utilize modern innovation to maximize exercise effectiveness. This modern innovation includes incorporating the knowledge about proper exercise routines that has developed throughout the ages, and also using the best equipment. For example, it’s been illustrated that a walkman can increase exercise effectiveness as people have a natural tendency to time their steps or motions with the beat of the music, which helps with motivation. It’s also a good idea to have a high tech personal trainer like the Garmin Edge 305 GPS, which is great for planning out running routes and tracking progress. The Garmin Edge 305 GPS is much more effective than a pedometer, and with it, it’s simple for people to track their progress.

It’s also important to recognize that combining exercise with proper diet increases metabolism, boosts muscle growth, and provides more energy. Whether exercising at the gym or at the home, having the right modern tools will make it easier to achieve success.

Acquiring an Exercising “Edge”

If you’re like me and most of the population, it’s difficult to stay motivated when you’re exercising.  I’m a big fan of bike riding as a form of exercise, mostly because it also allows me to run errands while I do it.  I just strap on my backpack and head down to the grocery store, the post office, or the pharmacy.  It’s something I’d have to do regardless, and I figure it’s better that I’m exercising at the same time.

But when it comes to more recreational exercise, I need something that drives me, other than the eventual goal of being more fit.  I saw a cyclist on the trail with a Garmin GPS device mounted on his bike, and asked him how he used it.  This revealed that the GPS device, the Garmin Edge, wasn’t just a GPS device, it was actually a personal trainer.  The Edge helped him navigate the trails, and also had a heart rate monitor and a cadence sensor that helped him to achieve his fitness goals.  Within a week, I had my own Garmin Edge, and it’s like having my own personal trainer that keeps me motivated on the trail; it’s great!

Garmin-fitness-GPSOne of the most difficult parts of getting into shape is sticking with a fitness program for the duration.  If it were possible for everyone to afford a personal trainer who would work with them during their exercise, there is no doubt fewer people would be out of shape in the first place.  However it’s unrealistic for most people to have a personal trainer, thus one of the better options for assisting with exercise is a handheld fitness trainer.  These little electronic devices monitor speed, distance, heart rate, and will help you train for a marathon or just improve your physique.

Handheld fitness trainers come from several manufacturers, but a Garmin fitness GPS tends to be the most bang for your buck.  You get a handheld fitness trainer, and a GPS device that will design running routes and courses for you; it really is like having your own personal trainer.

Could This Be the Future of Fitness GPS Trackers? Garmin Fitness GPS trackers are innovative handheld devices designed to aid in outdoor activities such as backpacking or cycling.

There is speculation that handheld GPS trackers in development will someday track dogs, and may someday include MP3 players or XM radios.  The enhanced features of these hypothetical Garmin Fitness GPS trackers could also include weather reports and aerial photography.
