With one of the largest highway systems of any country in the world, there’s nothing quite like road tripping in the United States. The U.S. is so interconnected and so vast that one could spend their entire lifetime on the road and not see all that America has to offer. Road tripping is one of America’s favorite pastimes, and is an experience all Americans should have at some point or another. The summer months are the ideal months for road tripping, and when road tripping whether in the summer heat or in the dead of winter, there are a few essentials all travelers. First, it’s important to have a good GPS device. Unless planning on never leaving the highway, a GPS device is an essential for all road trippers. Consider something like the Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS; a handheld device that is affordable with several contemporary functions. It’s also a good idea to keep a map around just in case.
Other road trip essentials include sun block (no one wants a trucker’s tan!), extra food and water, a quart of oil, a gallon of gasoline, and at least one change of clothes. These extras will help to prevent danger on the road and promote safety when partaking in America’s favorite pastime.
